This is an afternoon of pure relaxation and bliss that is suitable for EVERYONE, no experience in yoga is needed. All props are provided including mats, bolsters and blankets, however you are more than welcome to bring your own.

The day begins with a welcome chat followed by a beautiful grounding meditation, a gentle yoga flow, followed by the most nourishing and relaxing restorative and Yin yoga. We will then finish with a very long yoga Nidra (sleep yoga).

During the afternoon you will completely relax, feel so at ease within yourself, soaking up this time especially for you, to focus on just you! You will leave feeling re-energised, restored and relaxed.

We will then finish day with lovely chats with like minded people and enjoy lovely teas and treats.

The retreat starts promptly at 2pm with a short 10 min break and then finish at 5pm.

I have been running Sunday Sanctuary mini retreats for the last few years and I am so grateful and delighted that each retreat is fully booked with a waiting list.  The retreats are run once a month and during busy periods twice a month. Yoga & Nutrition Retreat

This will be a wonderful day of yoga and nutrition retreat at the beautiful venue of Mount Congreve Gardens, recognised at one of the greatest garden in the world 🌿

MORNING

  • We will ill begin with a gentle yoga flow for bone health with a focus on:

  • Muscle strength, improving posture and maintaining bone health.

  • Balance and spatial awareness - helping to prevent falls in our everyday lives

  • Building confidence and reducing anxiety - Feeling less fragile and anxious about the changes we may be experiencing.

  • Finishing the morning yoga off with a lovely long relaxing shavasana.

LUNCH & GARDEN WALKS

A healthy lunch will then be provided by Mount Congreve and there will be plenty of time to relax and enjoy the beautiful gardens at Mount Congreve with a post-lunch walk.

AFTERNOON

I will present a nutrition talk on the following topics:

  • Bone Health & why its important - Osteoporosis and osteopenia

  • Impact of hormonal change on bone health

  • Digestion - for optimum absorption of nutrients & supporting gut health

  • Foods to include in our diet for strong bones & muscles

  • Supplements - Do we need them and what ones may benefit us?

  • Lifestyle - exercise, sleep and stress.

RELAXATION

We will then move into a wonderfully relaxing restorative yoga and yoga Nidra practice. This will be the final part of the day where the focus will be on deep rest, calming and balancing our nervous system. Restorative yoga is a floor based practice where we will use bolsters, yoga props and blankets to support our body so we can completely surrender and relax into each pose. Everything is provided so no need to bring anything.

The afternoon will finish with a long yoga Nidra which is also known as sleep yoga where you will enter a state of deep relaxation, complete bliss and peacefulness. We will then close the day, going home feeling refreshed, rejuvenated and with so much more knowledge going forward on how to support our health and our wellbeing.

This full day starts at 10am promptly and will finish at 5pm.

If you have attended my retreats in the past you will know that I keep the groups small and intimate so I can give you all the time and attention you deserve. Along with yoga, a nutrition talk, lunch and access to the gardens, a free goody bag will also be provided to everyone who attends with a handouts and other little treats.

Sunday Sanctuary

Our very popular Sunday Sanctuaries are returning Yipee!! I cannot wait, its been wayyy to long! This is an afternoon of pure bliss suitable for everyone. Meditation, gentle flow yoga and wonderful restorative and Yin yoga.

This month our focus will be the liver/gallbladder meridians letting go of anger and showing more compassion to ourselves, bringing more harmony to whole selves. We will also focus on the Manipuri chakra, the solar plexus which is just above our bellybutton. This is where we find that fire in our belly, our passion, will power and vitality.

You will leave feeling re-energised, restored and relaxed. As usual we will finish with lovely chats along with teas and treats.
